AFC Stockport Ladies have now been running since 2006, and in that time have created their own records. Stacey Cheslett who’s been with the team since June 2009, has now broken past records, and looks set to keep on breaking some more. She’s just moved to 4th place in the most goals scored for AFC Ladies, as she hits 39 goals in 14 games, She’s yet to catch up with current top goalscorer for AFC, Rebekah McGill who score 77 goals in 27 games, if Stacey keeps going at this rate, she’ll break it in no time at all. Stacey gave AFC Stockport Ladies their 500th goal which was scored in the game against The Runners...AFC’s rivals in the league. She’s also now gained the most hatrick’s in a season, knocking former AFC Stockport Lady Lizzie Chapman of the top spot.
With Cheslett’s willingness and determination, she’s certainly going to be one to look out for when the girls head to 11 a-side in September.
